Dear Reader,

We had hoped to resume our long-established practice of collecting food and providing food hampers to needy families this Christmas. We have a list of over 100 families who need our help. Regrettably, we have been advised that due to Covid restrictions we should not engage in food collections or in delivering hampers.

Last year, instead of hampers we gave tokens that could be exchanged for food in selected local shops to families who needed our help. The arrangement worked very well though, as members of the Lions Club, we missed the personal contact with donors of food and cash and with the recipients of the tokens.

We have been helping families in need at Christmas every year since our club was formed 47 years ago and, with your help, we will do so again this year.

Collection jars, have been placed in retail outlets, we will value any contribution you can give.

We have also created a GoFundMe appeal where donations can be made, so just scan the QR code below with your phone or go inline to;

Our Tullamore Annual this year is the 10th Anniversary edition of the publication. It is receiving very favorable reviews by all who have seen it so far and is priced at €15, the same price as the previous editions. Funds from the sale of the Annual will be used to help families in need at Christmas and throughout the coming year.

If you can help in any of the ways suggested, be assured it will make a difference to a family in need.

Thank you in anticipation of your continuing support of our club.

Wishing you and your family the complements of the season.

Yours sincerely,

Paul Cullen, Honorary President
