Annual Lions Ireland Convention 2025 in Tullamore

The Lions Clubs Annual Convention in Tullamore was, by common consent, a great success. Even the weather played its part and remained dry and mild over the weekend.

Lions Clubs from all over Ireland, North and South, took part. The business of the convention was conducted in a businesslike and constructive environment in keeping with the Lions Clubs motto of ‘we serve’.

The organisation of the convention, under the leadership of Lion John Lyons, attracted high praise. The welcome event at Esker Arts Centre was an informal and very enjoyable occasion for delegates to meet fellow lions, accompanying persons and invited guests. Everyone, including those who visited the hostelries in Tullamore, presented early for the day -long business of the Convention on Saturday morning. The Gala Dinner at the Tullamore Court Hotel was very well attended and enjoyed by the 200 attendees. The Tullamore Court Hotel proved to be an excellent convention centre . The delegates and accompanying persons spoke warmly of the friendliness and efficiency of the hotel management and staff.

The accompanying persons programme, which included visits to the Tullamore Dew Distillery, the Food Market and Duffy Scott Candles, was greatly enjoyed by all who took part.

Hosting the Congress was a great honour for Tullamore Lions Club. We, the members, would like to thank the people of the area, Offaly County Council and business people of the town for the warm welcome our visitors experienced. We are grateful to local media for their interest and support of this landmark event in the history of our club.

Our golden jubilee year is still young. We look forward to marking that milestone event in many other ways and to continuing to serve the needs of Tullamore and surrounding areas as best we can.
